This sightseeing holiday is based in the heart of the Peak District gem of Buxton, a spa town with landmarks such as Solomon’s Temple, the Grade I listed Crescent, beautifully restored Pavilion Gardens and the Devonshire Dome. We include a visit to the town’s Poole’s Cavern – a two-million-year-old limestone cave. Out and about, our sightseeing takes us to pretty Bakewell and the enchanting village of Castleton. We also take in a tour of Denby Pottery Village, followed by a visit to Matlock, home of the Peak Rail preserved railway.

Poole’s Cavern & Buxton Country Park
Enthusiastic guides are at hand as we explore vast limestone caverns in incredible underground passages rich with crystal stalactites and stalagmites, while hearing its history and legends. Afterwards, enjoy the visitor centre, café and the beautiful
country park.

Bakewell & Castleton
The market town of Bakewell stands on the River Wye and is home to grand houses and the eponymous tart. We move on to Castleton, a chocolate box village and conservation area.

Denby Pottery Village & Factory Tour & Matlock
A guided tour of Denby Pottery Factory, taking you behind the scenes to watch expert craftspeople at work, using skills honed over 200 years, followed by a refreshing cup of coffee and free time to explore the village. We move on to Matlock, home to Hall Leys Park with its boating lake and flower displays.
