St Annes is a pretty seaside resort with sand dunes, Victorian pleasure pier, boating lakes, a traditional esplanade and manicured gardens. Our base is the resort’s Inn on the Prom, which stands on the promenade and has a furnished sun terrace with stunning views across the beach and Irish Sea. Out and about, we enjoy a scenic drive through the beautiful Ribble Valley, before arriving at the market town of Skipton, with its medieval castle that is one of the best preserved fortresses in England. We also spend a day in Liverpool, home to Albert Dock where you can step back to the 1960s and discover how four young Liverpool lads were thrust to the dizzying heights of fame at The Beatles Story or perhaps catch the ferry across the Mersey.
