Your Excursions

Guided Tour of the Cotswolds
Enjoy a guided coach tour of the chocolate-box Cotswolds, taking in gems such as Broadway, often referred to as the ‘Jewel of the Cotswolds’. The village lies beneath Fish Hill, and its charming High Street is lined with horse chestnut trees, grand period houses and honey coloured stone cottages. It is home to museums, galleries, and independent shops, while Broadway Tower watches over the village and gives views of sixteen counties. Then there’s the old town of Stow-on-the-Wold where you’ll find an impressive market square, England’s oldest inn and fifteenth century penal stocks alongside a charming promenade of shops.
Oxford
Look forward to a day in Oxford, Britain’s oldest university city and known as the ‘City of Dreaming Spires’. Perhaps visit one of the university colleges, Oxford Castle, the landmark Bridge of Sighs or the museum that tells the story of Oxford and its people. Take a cruise on the tranquil Thames, trace the steps of Inspector Morse and Harry Potter or explore the city’s Botanic Gardens. Maybe pop into the Old Parsonage Hotel where Oscar Wilde is reported to have stayed. Perhaps get about using the city’s hop on, hop off bus which stops at all the tourist sights.

PRESTIGIOUS PROPERTIES
Magnificent Heythrop Park is a Grade II listed country mansion set in the rolling Oxfordshire countryside. It is the most recent addition to the Warner portfolio, and a sparkling jewel in the Warner crown – little wonder this estate was chosen as the location for the filming of a Warner television advert. Each Warner hotel has a distinctive character, and many have fascinating stories to tell. Grand and historic Nidd Hall is where King Edward VIII met Mrs Wallis Simpson while Bodelwyddan Castle tells wartime tales. Then there is Alvaston Hall, the beating heart of Cheshire society in the nineteenth century, and Holme Lacy House where William Pitt the Elder hosted cabinet meetings.

†Activities vary every week. Timetables of events are available in resort on arrival. Charges may apply. Please note that Warner Hotels operate a card only payment system. Due to the character of these properties, accommodation can be located a short walk from some facilities.
