5 Day Coach Holiday

Morecambe has a pleasant promenade stretching for five miles and where you’ll find the larger than life statue of the town’s most famous son - comedy legend Eric Morecambe. This charming seaside town is also renowned for its variety of seabirds and striking sculptures positioned along the seafront. Relax on the beach or at West End Gardens. Perhaps head to Happy Mount Park where you’ll find ornamental gardens, nature trails, crazy golf, and a putting green. Morecambe’s heritage centre next to the Grade II Winter Gardens has an intriguing collection of items with posters and exhibits from its variety, comedy and railway heritage. Out and about, we visit Blackpool, a lively seaside resort where the fun never stops and where everything you could want in a traditional British beach break is promised. On another day we explore part of the Lake District, England’s largest national park, a World Heritage Site and an area of outstanding beauty. We also venture into the Yorkshire Dales where we learn about cheese at Wensleydale Creamery.

Your Excursions

Blackpool
Sandy beaches, leafy parks, boating lakes, the thrill of the Golden Mile with its vintage wooden rollercoasters, adventure golf, evocative trams and nostalgic pleasure piers are just for starters. Perhaps visit the town’s brand new all-singing, all-dancing Showtown Museum where you can get up close to entertainers who have put Blackpool on the map. Head to the soaring tower, an iconic venue that opened in 1894 with attractions such as a circus, the famous ballroom and a scary dungeon - catch the lift and soar 380 feet to the Blackpool Tower Eye, where you can experience the Sky Walk glass floored viewing
platform, or inspect the famous waxworks at Madame Tussauds and pose for a selfie with celebrities and royalty.

Southern Lakelands
Our first stop on this scenic excursion is the victorian town of Bowness-on-Windermere, where you might like to treat yourself to a cruise on its glassy water, enjoying views of soaring mountains, secluded bays and woodland isles. You’ll find a range of shops and cafes as well as The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction. Later, we move on to the picturesque market town of Kendal, where attractions include castle ruins and the Mayor’s Parlour, as well as museums, art gallery, traditional pubs and friendly coffee houses.

Wensleydale Creamery & Kirkby Lonsdale
We make our way to the historic market town of Kirkby Lonsdale set on the edge of the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. It is a delight to explore with its quaint Salt Pie Lane, twelfth century church and The Vault, where you can uncover local stories. We continue through the wonderful backdrop of Wensleydale to Hawes where we learn all about cheese making at the Wensleydale Creamery before enjoying some tasty samples.

Strathmore Hotel - Morecambe

The beachfront Strathmore Hotel stands on Morecambe’s east promenade with views of Morecambe Bay and the Lake District’s mountains beyond. Great facilities include a lounge bar and a furnished terrace.
