Morecambe has a pleasant promenade stretching for five miles and where you’ll find the larger than life statue of the town’s most famous son - comedy legend Eric Morecambe. This charming seaside town is also renowned for its variety of seabirds and striking sculptures positioned along the seafront. Relax on the beach or at West End Gardens. Perhaps head to Happy Mount Park where you’ll find ornamental gardens, nature trails, crazy golf, and a putting green. Morecambe’s heritage centre next to the Grade II Winter Gardens has an intriguing collection of items with posters and exhibits from its variety, comedy and railway heritage. Out and about, we visit Blackpool, a lively seaside resort where the fun never stops and where everything you could want in a traditional British beach break is promised. On another day we explore part of the Lake District, England’s largest national park, a World Heritage Site and an area of outstanding beauty. We also venture into the Yorkshire Dales where we learn about cheese at Wensleydale Creamery.
