HANNOVER, CELLE & LUNEBURG
This enchanting holiday features fairytale German Christmas markets with sparkling lights amidst the sweet aroma of mulled wine and gingerbread filling the air. First up is Hannover where the historic square is animated with daintily decorated stalls as puppeteers, medieval glass blowing, and gothic architecture enhance its magical spell. Next day, we travel to the storybook village of Celle where the half-timbered dwellings in the atmospheric old quarter pulsate with flickering lights as a lofty Christmas tree points the way to a spellbinding world of decorated chalets and enchanting carousels. Our final delight is a guided tour of the Hanseatic city of Luneburg followed by a visit to its Christmas market. Here you’ll find a cluster of adorned chalets around the stately town hall, selling handmade gifts and traditional foods and you’ll be heart warmed by the evocative aura. Staying at the Landhotel Michaelishof, a handsome half-timbered property in the German town of Bergen.
