6 Day Coach Holiday

This exploration of gorgeous gardens is a must do for all flower fans, and is based in Plymouth, known as Britain’s Ocean City. Plymouth boasts a vibrant waterfront with spectacular seascapes and its bustling harbour offers sightseeing pleasure cruises. A lovely lido and adventure golf add to the seaside fun while landmarks such as the Mayflower Steps which marks the spot where the pilgrims left England for a new life in America throw in a soupçon of history. Indeed, the Mayflower Museum takes visitors on a journey through four centuries, while The Box is the city’s award winning and free to enter museum with thousands of natural history specimens including a full size replica mammoth! When night falls, the city comes alive with bijou bars alongside a fabulous theatre culture. Perhaps use the city’s hop on, hop off buses to see the sights, or download the Plymouth Trails app onto your phone and follow tourist routes such as the Mayflower Trail, The Hoe or the Waterfront Walkway. Includes an overnight hotel stop en route to Plymouth.

Your Excursions

Eden Project
The amazing Eden Project is a beautiful global garden with over twenty plant based exhibits and houses the largest indoor jungle in the world. Step inside the fifty metre high Rainforest Biome – the world’s biggest conservatory – and trek through the steamy rainforests where you’ll find lush tropical plants, a gushing waterfall and tropical butterflies flying freely. Take to the treetops on the canopy walkway and see the campsites showing how indigenous rainforest people lived. View beautiful garden displays, Peruvian murals and world class art. Unforgettable!
The Lost Gardens of Heligan
After going into decline following the outbreak of the First World War, these gardens were rediscovered in 1990 and restored on a shoestring budget hailed by The Times as “the garden restoration of the century”. Follow the trails to discover Victorian gardens that were laid out over two centuries ago. Head to “The Jungle” and wander along the boardwalk amidst towering bamboo, glassy ponds, banana plantations and exotic plants from around the world.
The Garden House
Surround yourself with a kaleidoscope of colour and beauty at every turn at The Garden House on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. This incredible attraction features a huge variety of flowers, is set in ten stunning acres, and was described by BBC gardening presenter, Toby Buckland, as a “plantsman’s paradise”.

Duke of Cornwall Hotel - Plymouth

This grand, nineteenth century hotel has a striking gothic façade and was described by poet Sir John Betjeman as “one of the nation’s finest examples of Victorian architecture”. It is located just a few minutes’ walk from Plymouth’s historic waterfront and is a landmark building in Britain’s Ocean City. Inside you’ll find modern comforts mingling with old world grandeur, including a Grade II listed sweeping staircase. Facilities include a comfortably furnished lounge bar and an elegant restaurant.
