Our holiday is based in Broadford, the settlement where visitors arrive after crossing the Skye Bridge. This long, meandering village stretches around the bay and has a selection of bars and cafes as well as craft boutiques and artists’ studios. Next to the old pier you’ll find a few quirky shops.

Guided Tour of Dunvegan Castle & Portree
Dunvegan Castle commands an idyllic loch side setting and houses fine paintings and clan treasures. We proceed to the island capital of Portree, which is built around a natural harbour.

Torabhaig Distillery Guided Tour & Armadale Castle, Gardens & Museum
Enjoy a guided tour of Torabhaig Distillery followed by a tutored tasting of the single malt whisky, then discover 1500 years of history at Armadale Castle & Museum, before exploring the gardens and woodland walks.

Trotternish Peninsula
We head to Skye’s northernmost peninsula, passing iconic sites such as the Storr, Quiraing, the ruined fortress at Duntulm, the port of Uig and Flora MacDonald’s grave. On the April date we also visit the Museum of Island Life to learn how crofters eked out a living from the land.

Dunollie Hotel - Broadford

This hotel rests by the sparkling waterside of Broadford Bay at the foot of Beinn na Caillich mountain,  with superb views across the sea to Loch Kishorn. It has spacious and comfortable public areas  including an attractive restaurant.
