We spend a day in Liverpool where you can explore at your own pace perhaps taking in the listed buildings, superb museums and notable landmarks or follow the time-honoured tradition of hopping aboard the colourful ferry across the Mersey for the ultimate sightseeing experience. We also visit Lancaster, a historic gem where landmarks include the gothic revival cathedral, a foreboding castle with origins dating back to the Romans, the Grade I listed priory, and the Georgian townhouse known as the Judges Lodgings. Lancaster also has meandering towpaths along its canal as well as lovely parks.
