7 Day GOOD COMPANIONS Holiday

Based in the picturesque Dutch city of Valkenburg, home to an eleventh century castle, as well as the breathtaking Velvet Cave and the Gemeentegrot caverns that date back to the Romans. Look forward to a day in Germany’s spa city of Aachen, the place where kings and queens were crowned for over six hundred years. We also spend a day in Cologne and visit Brussels. Our base is the Hotel Walram, located in a riverbank square close to the centre of Valkenburg.

Overview

Your Holiday Itinerary

Day One. We head for our overnight ferry to the continent, where we enjoy dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.

Day Two. We make our way to Brussels where you might like to relax in Grand Place. Later, we continue to Valkenburg to check in to our hotel.

Day Three. A day in Aachen, home to a historic Old Town with narrow streets and ancient squares. Attractions include the grandiose gothic cathedral, the medieval Palatine Chapel and the Elisenbrunnen Fountain, which symbolises Aachen as a spa city.

Day Four. Today it’s Cologne, a two thousand year old city spanning the River Rhine. Its magnificent cathedral houses the Shrine of the Three Kings, and the Museum Ludwig boasts masterpieces by Picasso.

Day Five. Day at leisure to explore Valkenburg. Don’t miss the Gemeentegrot caves – a fascinating underworld dating back to the Romans.

Day Six. We check out of our hotel and travel to The Hague where you might like to view famous artworks in the Mauritshuis Museum. Onwards to our overnight ferry enjoying dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.

Day Seven. We make our way home after our sightseeing holiday.
