Day One. We travel to our overnight ferry to the continent, where we enjoy dinner, entertainment and breakfast onboard.
Day Two. We continue to our overnight hotel.
Day Three. Onwards to Diano Marina to check into the lovely Hotel Capri for our seven night stay.
Day Four. Our adventure moves up a gear with a guided walking tour of Monaco, home to the Royal Palace and the cathedral where Prince Rainier married Grace Kelly. We continue via the Monaco Grand Prix roads to the famous Monte Carlo Casino. This lavish marble and gold building is Europe’s most extravagant example of belle-epoque architecture.
Day Five. Today’s treat is the glamorous coastal city of Nice, jewel of the French Riviera. Stroll along the palm tree lined Promenade des Anglais, step back in time with a wander around the atmospheric Old Town, view the stunning churches or visit the Musee Matisse, dedicated to the work of artist, Henri Matisse.
Days Six & Seven. Two days at leisure for relaxing, shopping or sightseeing – perhaps take a boat trip.
Day Eight. A half day tour along the Italian Riviera coastline to Alassio, a chic resort adorned by trees and flowers and boasting a gorgeous beach. Enjoy a stroll along the picturesque carrugio – a typical Ligurian street that runs parallel to the coast, lined with patisseries, shops and bars.
Day Nine. We cross into France for a day in dreamy Menton on the French Riviera, with its lemon gardens, sandy beach and tightly packed jumble of terracotta roofed buildings that overlook the sea. Meander through the maze of traditional narrow alleys of its Old Town, admiring the medieval buildings and baroque cathedral.
Day Ten. Arrivederci to Italy as we travel to our overnight hotel.
Day Eleven. We continue to our overnight ferry back to the UK with dinner, entertainment and breakfast onboard.
Day Twelve. We make our way home after our delightful holiday.
