Day One. We head to our overnight ferry to the continent, where we enjoy dinner, entertainment and breakfast onboard.
Day Two. We continue to our overnight hotel.
Day Three. We travel to Stresa and check into the Hotel Moderno for our seven night stay.
Day Four. Our treat today is lovely Lake Lugano, perched on the mountainous border with Switzerland. Relax in the Mediterranean-style squares or stroll along the promenade where you’ll find sub-tropical gardens.
Day Five. Look forward to a guided walking tour of sophisticated Milan, the stunning city of fashion. Must see attractions include the magnificent cathedral, the red brick Castello Sforzesco and the Teatro alla Scala.
Days Six & Seven. Two free days to explore. Perhaps sail to Isola Madre, home to an elegant villa with rambling grounds. Maybe visit one of the quirky museums, stroll around the beautiful lakeside, hop aboard the little land train to see the sights or ascend Mount Mottarone in the cable car and view the lake from the summit.
Day Eight. Our outing today takes us to shimmering Lake Como. This stunning region is characterised by its network of Roman roads which are overlooked by towers and castles.
Day Nine. A taste of undiscovered Italy today with our visit to Turin, home to extraordinary Baroque architecture and great shopping. Perhaps visit the Museo Nazionale del Cinema where you’ll find exhibits like Marilyn Monroe’s lace bustier, Peter O’Toole’s robe from Lawrence of Arabia and Bela Lugosi’s coffin from Dracula!
Day Ten. Arrivederci to Italy as we journey north to our overnight hotel.
Day Eleven. We continue to our overnight ferry back to the UK with dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.
Day Twelve. We make our way home after our sightseeing extravaganza!
