Enjoy a triple-helping of seaside sensations on one fun-filled beach break. You’ll be based in the coastal haven of St Annes, a classic resort with floral gardens, rolling sand dunes, beautifully restored Victorian pier, boating lakes and a charming promenade. Perhaps visit the historic windmill on Lytham Green, the Heritage Centre or the fine Georgian House of Lytham Hall which is set in parkland and has a pleasant tearoom. Maybe you’d like to head to Fairhaven Lake to hire a rowing boat and play a game of crazy golf or relax in Ashton Gardens where you’ll be enchanted by the ornate grounds and tumbling waterfalls. We spend a day in Morecambe where the level promenade stretches for five miles and features a statue of comedy legend, Eric Morecambe. On another day it’s the coastal delight of Southport where attractions include the sparkling marine  lake and where we call at the resort’s colourful botanic gardens.

Your Excursions

Renowned for the variety of seabirds such as steel cormorants, gannets and razorbills along with the other wildlife that inhabit the resort’s bay, the local  TERN project celebrates this abundance of nature with a series of striking sculptures positioned along its seafront. Relax on the sweep of golden sands or maybe head to Happy Mount Park which dates from the 1920s and is home to brass bands, ornamental gardens, nature trails, a putting green and café. Don’t forgot to have your photo taken with the statue of the comedian Eric Morecambe striking his famous pose!

Southport & Botanic Gardens
Explore Southport’s landmark pier and the marine lake, relax on the sandy beach, meander along the promenade or browse the shops in refined Lord Street. We stop at the resort’s Botanic Gardens which opened in 1874 and simply burst with floral displays. Perhaps admire the lake, stop at the aviary, browse the gift shop and sip a cuppa in the café.
