Overview

All aboard for a nostalgic steam locomotive ride along Scotland’s glorious west coast. Regarded as one of the great train journeys of the world, the thundering Jacobite Steam Train puffs its way through breathtaking countryside, past sleepy villages and rumbles over the multi-arched Glenfinnan Viaduct – a landmark recognisable from the Harry Potter movies. We also experience the Treasures of the Earth Exhibition and visit Fort William, a favourite location for the makers of movies such as Braveheart and Highlander. Perhaps call at the town’s museum where you can explore eight rooms packed with fascinating objects from Rob Roy’s sporran to bagpipes played at Bannockburn in 1314.

Your Excursions

Jacobite Steam Train to Mallaig
We board the Jacobite Steam Train for our evocative journey across the multi-arched Glenfinnan Viaduct. Arriving in Mallaig, you might like to explore the visitor centre or simply enjoy the stunning views from the harbour.

Fort Augustus & Fort William
Housed in an atmospheric simulation of caves, the award winning treasures of the earth attraction houses one of europe’s finest collections of priceless gemstones as well as a billion-year-old fossil and dinosaur dung! Afterwards you’ll have free time to explore Fort William - don’t miss the town’s West Highland Museum.

Glencoe & Oban
We visit the village of Glencoe, a charming settlement tucked away amidst stunning scenery. From here we travel to the harbour town of Oban where you’ll find a level esplanade, whisky distillery and woollen mills. Perhaps head up to McCaig’s tower and admire the views and peaceful gardens.
