This delightfully varied holiday takes you to traditional coastal resorts, a medieval city and sumptuous Sandringham all whilst staying at a splendid country house hotel. Lowestoft and Southwold promise all the fun of the seaside with golden sands, pleasure piers and beach huts. Norwich oozes history at every turn while Sandringham treats us to a peek behind the scenes of Royal life as we view the magnificent house, museum and gardens.
Norwich is a compact, easy to explore city with an enchanting jumble of medieval alleyways flanked by a collection of churches, shops and cafés. Along cobbled Elm Hill you’ll find eye-catching halftimbered Tudor dwellings, inviting antique shops and tearooms. Perhaps visit Plantation Garden and don’t miss the captivating cathedral.
Standing proudly in acres of glorious grounds, Sandringham House has been the country retreat for four generations of British monarchs. Explore the main ground floor rooms of the nineteenth century house where the decor and contents are much as they were in Edwardian times. The museum houses vintage Royal vehicles along with arts and crafts while the sumptuous gardens are a delight to explore. There is also a superb visitor centre housing a gift shop, café and restaurant.
Lowestoft & Southwold
Our first seaside gem is lovely Lowestoft where you might like to take a stroll along Claremont Pier. We continue along the coast to the
quintessentially British resort of Southwold with its promenade lined with colourful beach huts.
This cosy four star country house hotel delightfully blends Elizabethan and Victorian and rests in acres of lush parkland. The elegant Terrace Bar affords views over the gardens while the contemporary spa adds a splash of modern day luxury.
